Leaving Soon

In just a few weeks I'll be leaving for Antarctica for five months working as a computer Technician at the McMurdo Station for Raytheon Polar Services Company (RPSC). Today is September 21st, my second to last day as a Network Operations Center Operator at XpressBet. I'll have a short time off before I leave, just long enough to go on vacation with Brittany at Mt. Hood. Then on October 4th, I fly to Denver and to get my HR training. From there I fly to Los Angeles, then Auckland New Zealand, then Christchurch New Zealand, then I hop on a military transport plane for the 8 hour ride to the ice. The whole trip is over 16,000 miles, just on the commercial airlines. It's a nice start for my frequent flier program, since they let us keep the miles (they pay the trip). It should be quiet the adventure. Sometimes I wonder what I'm getting myself into. When I originally applied it seemed very distant, but as time gets closer everything become much more real. Hopefully everything will turn out well and I'll have some great pictures / experiences to post.
